Multi-Alarm Structure Fire
On Thursday, May 2, 2024 at 15:42, Companies 1 and 2 were dispatched to Ryan Lane for a report of a structure fire. Upon arrival, Chief 1 confirmed a working fire in a 2 1/2 story wood frame residential structure with heavy fire and smoke showing from the roof. Engine 1-1 was first on scene and quickly stretched a 1 3/4" attack line to the second division while Engine 1-4 established a water supply. The vast pre-arrival spread of fire prompted the use of two aerial master streams for support. The presence of fire in the void space above a living room's vaulted ceiling proved difficult in extinguishing, but after about three hours all firefighting operations were complete and the scene was turned over to Pequannock Fire Safety Bureau.
Pequannock Police, Pequannock First Aid Squad, Atlantic Mobile Health, Riverdale Fire, Pompton Lakes Fire, and Wayne Fire were also on scene.
