PEQUANNOCK TOWNSHIP JUNIOR FIRE DEPARTMENT

The Pequannock Township Junior Fire Department is a leadership and training program for young men and women ages 14–17 who are interested in serving their community and exploring the fire service. As Junior Firefighters, members participate in hands-on training, attend drills, respond to emergency calls under the supervision of experienced firefighters, and develop the skills necessary to become successful firefighters and community leaders.
Through the program, members receive practical instruction in firefighting, rescue operations, fire prevention, teamwork, leadership, and personal responsibility. At age 16, eligible members may attend the County Fire Academy and begin earning certifications that provide a strong foundation for a future in the fire service.
Whether your goal is to become a firefighter, pursue a career in emergency services, or simply serve your community while learning valuable life skills, the PTJFD offers a unique opportunity to train, grow, and make a difference alongside some of the most dedicated volunteers in Pequannock Township.
