On April 12, 2023, Pompton Plains Engine Company #1 sent a crew mutual aid into West Milford to assist with structure protection during the Kanouse Wildfire. Our members operated for about eight hours before being released. Three days later on April 15 at 10am, the New Jersey Forest Fire Service announced that the 972-acre blaze was officially 100% contained.
